Tips for a healthy smoothie anytime!
Keep your favorite mixture of frozen fruit in the freezer. It doesn’t matter what kind of fruit; they can all be blended into a delicious creamy smoothie.
Have produce that is about to go bad, like spinach, celery, bananas, or anything else. Cut them up and throw them in a freezer ziploc bag for smoothies later. Sometimes I buy all my smoothie ingredients in bulk and make premade bags to keep in my freezer.
Keep a good quality protein and fiber supplement in your pantry for your smoothies. Shoot for 30-40 grams of protein per serving.
Add cinnamon to your smoothie to help stabilize blood sugar.
Don’t forget the healthy fat! This will help keep you fuller longer and not reach for those snacks an hour after your healthy smoothie. My favorite option is using coconut milk as my base and healthy fat option all in one.
