Global Employee Health and Fitness Month

May kicks off Global Employee Health and Fitness Month!

This is the perfect month to start a company wellness program or ramp up an already existing wellness program. In addition, this international observance month is the ideal time to highlight the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

The  Global Employee Health and Fitness website makes it simple and easy to get involved this month. From interactive seminars to bi-weekly newsletters, you’ll have plenty of options to use throughout the month to encourage employee well-being.

Are you still feeling stuck? Then, use our simple suggestions for the month of May.

  • Cooking Class- Host a chef, or take a field trip to a local healthy cooking class.

  • Mental Health Day- Host a chair massage event, yoga class, or guided meditation on-site. Hand out journals, stress balls, and essential oil gift sets.

  • Office Ergonomics - Review office spaces for proper lighting, seating, etc. Have a specialist come in and do an adequate office ergonomics setup for all employees.

  • Create a Challenge- Organize healthy challenges throughout the month; set up a step challenge, take the stairs, drink more water, bring a healthy lunch, etc.

  • Outdoor Event- Organize a company 5k or have an outdoor picnic with physical activities like soccer, flag football, hula hoops, potato sack races, etc.

  • Host a Health Fair Event- Bring in your benefit vendors and other local vendors to highlight all the significant areas of health and wellness. Include biometric screening or another health-related screening.

  • Give Aways- Provide employees with company-branded water bottles and other gym swag. Work with local gyms for membership discounts. Consider a few big-ticket raffles like kayaks or bicycles. Ask a local shop to donate these if possible.
